Shero's at it again

Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager Ray Shero approaches every trade deadline with a plan and so far this plan has worked.  Over the past few days the penguins have landed young talent such as Matt Niskanen and James Neal and a former fan favorite Alexei Kovalev.  These deals proved to be very good deals for the penguins as they only gave up Defenseman Alex Goligoski and a 7th (or 6th) round draft pick.  Personally, my hat goes off to Ray Shero, as it usually does this time of year.  Let me hear your thoughts.

Kobe's class act

This past weekend was All-Star weekend for the NBA.  It was an exciting weekend with the skills competitions, the celebrity game and the actual All-Star game.  What caught my eye was Kobe Bryant's statement after the game.  Kobe mentioned that it wasn't his time anymore, he had is moment in the spotlight and he's behind everything the media is doing to promote the young players (Blake Griffin).  This was after the fact that Kobe won his 4th All-Star game MVP and overshadowed Lebron's triple-double.  In my opinion, Kobe's time isn't over.  Until he stops dominating in such a convincing fashion, his time isn't close to being over.  Let me hear your opinions.

Cabrera strikes again

Tigers Slugger Miguel Cabrera was arrested in Florida for DUI.  This isn't Cabrera's first offense.  The police reported that Cabrera had a slurred speech and was not able to focus.  It wasn't a positive that Cabrera was under the influence until he actually began to drink while being apprehended.  He also was quoted when he kept repeating "Do you know who I am?"  Police however, did not care who Cabrera was at the moment.  If you're Tigers skipper Jim Leyland, how do you deal with Miguel Cabrera?

Whats up with Sid?

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been out for 14 games with what was originally listed as a mild concussion.  Concussions are very serious injuries, but a mild consuccion usually keeps players out for a week.  This has brought up some obvious concern among fans.  Especially since the Penguins other star center, Evgeni Malkin suffered a season ending knee injury after recieving a hit from Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers.  Recently there have been some reports that Sidney Crosby will also be out for the season.  Pens G.M. Ray Shero was asked about the issue and he was quick to move away from the subject and stress that he will return however, there is no time-table for his return.  What do you think of the speculations, and what should the Penguins do in this situation?  Let me hear your opinions.
