Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been out for 14 games with what was originally listed as a mild concussion. Concussions are very serious injuries, but a mild consuccion usually keeps players out for a week. This has brought up some obvious concern among fans. Especially since the Penguins other star center, Evgeni Malkin suffered a season ending knee injury after recieving a hit from Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers. Recently there have been some reports that Sidney Crosby will also be out for the season. Pens G.M. Ray Shero was asked about the issue and he was quick to move away from the subject and stress that he will return however, there is no time-table for his return. What do you think of the speculations, and what should the Penguins do in this situation? Let me hear your opinions.

Let him take as much time as he needs. Although reports are sketchy about the injury there's no need to rush him back. Were still right in the hunt for the division only 3 points behind Philly and hold a 13 point lead on 8th place. They just need to play .500 hockey till Crosby gets back and make a big splash at the trade deadline and theyll be fine.
ReplyDeleteI think the Pens should let Crosby rest until he is ready and able to play without experiencing concussion symptoms. Sure the Penguins could use him in the lineup, but they need to save him when games are 100% important, the playoffs. With Sid and now Geno out of the lineup I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the Baby Pens that were called up to be showcased to other teams in hope of trading them for a goal scorer winger or center, while the two headed monster is out.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree completely. All things considered, the Pens are like 9-5-1 without Crosby, that isn't too bad. I have heard some trade talks as well. I believe it was the self acclaimed "super genius" Mark Madden who heard a report of Kovalev returning to the Pens for a draft pick but we'll have to wait and see about that. Yeah the Pens have some promising prospects in their program that could be prime for a trade.
